Release time:
2022-11-23
This is the Vietnam Pavilion designed by Vo Trong Nghia Architects at the 2015 Milan World Expo. Its inspiration comes from the lotus, which is the national flower of Vietnam, symbolizing purity, commitment, and optimism for the future. The exhibition hall consists of umbrella shaped structures wrapped in bamboo and wood, located on a pool of water. Above them, there are plants - lotus flowers growing from the mud pool, becoming more and more beautiful as seen. Lotus has proven that patience can turn difficulties into advantages. In addition to the symbolic significance of lotus, architects also use flowers as a metaphor. In addition to the beauty of lotus flowers, it is also closely related to Vietnamese cuisine. All plants can be delicious food... As a temporary exhibition hall, the role of the architect is to minimize the influence of the exhibition hall. To achieve this, the design extensively uses bamboo materials, and it is worth mentioning that the exhibition hall can also be disassembled to reuse its components. In response to the theme of "Nourishing the Earth, Energy for Life" at the World Expo, the use of renewable bamboo and wood materials in venue construction has become a new trend.
